GAY.CAT SENDS CONGRATULATIONS TO PRIME MINISTER OF ICELAND, JOHANNA SIGURDARDOTTIR
I have always dreamt to visit someday Iceland. Now, with Johanna Sigurdardottir as prime minister I should go as soon as possible.
From Barcelona, GAY.CAT wants to send congratulations to the people from Iceland. I have read that Johanna is the first gay person to be prime minister, at least in an open way.
I hope Johanna comes to Barcelona some day. GAY.CAT IS ALL YOURS.

Dear Boy George,
I imagine you will never read these words but dreams are dreams.
I just have read you have been jailed for 15 months and as I imagine this is a hard moment for you I just wanted to give you back what you gave me decades ago: YOU GAVE ME HOPE.
It was around 1990's. All around myself was silence about homosexuality. Nobody talked about that. Nobody seemed to be gay.
Then, in such a hard time, I remember I saw a videoclip of yours. You were singing Karma Chameleon and you were in a ship. maybe in the Mississipi. You have long hair and it was the first time in my life I saw somebody playing with sexuality. You were fresh air. Thanks to you, I knew that somewhere, somehow, there was freedom.
Now, you seem to be in trouble. I have no idea if you did right or wrong. The only thing I know is that years ago you were a lighthouse in my life. So now that you are in trouble, I wish everything goes right with you.
Who knows, maybe without a Boy George now there wouldn't be such a GAY.CAT.

EL ACENTO DE MAGDALENA ÁLVAREZ
Desde hace unos días ha sucedido algo que como amante de las lenguas y sus variantes me está fascinando. Resulta que Montserrat Nebrera del PPC ha hecho unas declaraciones refiriéndose al acento de la Ministra de Fomento.
Como estas declaraciones así como la polémica suscitada debe ser muy conocida aquí os diré simplemente lo que me ha venido a la cabeza.
En primer lugar decir que a mi tampoco se me había escapado la manera de hablar de Magdalena Álvarez. Cuando habla tiene un acento andaluz muy muy fuerte y a mi no me deja nada indiferente! Siendo Magdalena Ministra de todo el estado y no sólo Andalucía es evidente que cunado habla somos muchos los que la escuchamos y nos puede costar un poco entenderla. Quizá haya otra gente andaluza que con cargos a nivel estatal intentan hablar con menos acento andaluz para ser más entendibles. Esto no pasa con Magdalena Álvarez. Tiene una personalidad muy fuerte y mantiene su acento tal como es.
Pues bien, ante esta manera de actuar, mi respuesta es ….: ¡BRAVO, SEÑORA MAGDALENA ÁLVAREZ¡ Es hora de que nos acostumbremos que cada uno tiene un hablar y un acento y ninguno es mejor o peor que otro.
A Magdalena Álvarez, solo hay que juzgarla por su labor en el Ministerio y no por su manera de hablar.
Ahora que he dejada clara mi actitud positiva ante la manera de hablar de la ministra, pues bien, ahora me referiré a las palabras de Montserrat Nebrera.
El hecho de que nombrara como habla la ministra lo entiendo porque a mi también me llama mucho la atención su forma de hablar y expresarse pero me parece que fue un error el mezclar su manera de hablar con un ataque político a la ministra. Creo que inconscientemente en sus palabras salió inconscientemente un prejuicio contra ciertas maneras de hablar. Espero que no la expulsen de su partido porque creo que en el fondo usted no tiene nada en contra del acento andaluz. Incluso puede que hasta le haga gracia. El error fué echárselo en cara a la ministra su acento. Es de las pocas cosas de la ministra que la hacen entrañable. Además de su forma de ser.
RUSSIAN GAS DEPENDENCE IN EUROPE
I just read that in Europe is freezing, like in Barcelona …, and at the same time the Russian gas is not reaching some European homes where is much needed. I find that quite embarrassing and I wish that Europe, in general, was less dependent from Russia.
Let's hope that when Eurovision arrives to Moscow in some months the problem has been solved. So we will be able to concentrate on how the mayor of Moscow acts as such a gay venue takes place in his city.
