WORDPRESS.COM THEMES – POST 2
In my first post I just made a list with the wordpress.com themes available. Now I will write here about the things one should know about themes.
To start, one has to realize that some things from the themes can be changed and other not (well, with an upgrade you may change them but then you have to pay) For example in some themes you can change the background. In others, like FJORDS04 is not possible. So when you go to appearance and you get a choice of themes you must look at the general description but also too the tags. I have needed three years to know that. Before, I was to busy about the content I was going to put so I could not pay much attention about the theme. I just chose one I like and that was all. But maybe once you get used to one theme maybe you will be, like me, curious about other themes.
There was a time I used to change from theme to theme. I think that can be good at the beginning but it is not possible when you have built the blog with a lot of widgets, etc. You may lose something! But if do not have much made then maybe it is a good idea to try diffrent themes.
When you look at the themes you will see that there is an option for filtering. There you can look for a theme with two, three columns, etc.
One very important thing is the width. It can be a flexible width or a fixed width. In FJORDS04 is a fixed one.
About the features you can choose for,example, STICKY POST. FJORD04 has this feature and this means that you can choose any post to appear on the front page! This is quite good when you need an old post to be on the front page bacause now what you wrote in that post is interresting right now! There is also the option of CUSTOM BACKGROUND. FJORDS04 has not it. RTL LANGUAGE SUPPORTS means RIGHT TO LEFT LANGUAGE SUPPORT.
